I first met Lloyd in the summer of 2001 in Greece. It didn't take long before his infectious laugh, silly pranks and terrible jokes became the highlight of conversation in the hotel. We quickly became friends and stayed in touch when returning to the UK. This friendship quickly blossomed into a very special relationship and during the 12 years together, we had lots of laughs, travelled to some amazing places and shared many fantastic memories. Lloyd was not only my partner, he was my best friend, and in July 2010 I was very proud and honoured to become his wife.
Unfortunately we were not married for very long when he took ill, but his strength, courage, positivity and determination never ceased to amaze me. During this time, Lloyd taught me the most important thing in life....to embrace it and live everyday like it was your last.
By setting up this charity in his memory, we hope to be able to encourage young people to adopt the same philosophy as Lloyd - to get anywhere in life you need to work hard, learn and develop new skills, build confidence and relationships and continually want to better yourself. This cannot always be possible without a little help financially, so the foundation is here to provide that stepping stone to success.

Paul Williams - Lloyd's Cousin
Hi, my name is Paul Williams and I am Lloyd’s cousin. We grew up as part of a really close family. However, as well as being family Lloyd was one of my best friends. As adults we did all kinds of stuff together like going for bike rides to keep fit. Of course we’d have to dive into the pub for more than a few swift pints to keep us going before returning home worse for wear! But best of all we used to have a great laugh together.
I really love that we have united in Lloyd’s memory with this charity to create something worthwhile. Lloyd adored kids and as you may already know really was a big kid himself. He loved nothing more than to mess about with my 2 kids playing rough and tumble or playing with remote control cars! I am totally behind this charity and know that Lloyd would have championed it too. This is a great opportunity for us to help young people follow their dreams by funding education which they would not otherwise be able to afford. The charity is important to me as it is a chance to change lives for the better and I am all for that!

I will always remember Lloyd for his generosity, kindness and infectious laugh with a wicked sense of humour. I was delighted to be asked to be a trustee of this charity.......following on much of the good work Lloyd enjoyed doing.

Lloyd and I were brothers-in-law and I had the pleasure of knowing him for over 10 years. Lloyd, to me, was not only family but a great friend who was fantastic to be around, very entertaining and readily put smiles on faces. We shared many fun times together and his larger-than-life approach left a lasting impression. I have many great and fond memories.
Lloyd was extremely giving and very generous, always willing to provide a helping hand or lend an ear, regularly devoting his time and energy to younger people to help them achieve their goals and realise their aspirations. The LLOYD EIST FOUNDATION seeks to continue this legacy and is a very fitting tribute to such a great man.
